Welcome to st. teresa!

MARCH PRINCIPAL MESSAGE 2009-10

On Wednesday, February 17, the Grade One students led our Ash Wednesday celebration to mark the beginning of our six-week Lenten journey.   We have shared with the children that the Lenten season invites us to prepare our hearts for Easter.  We are called to increase our prayer and reflection and to give more fully to one another. As a Catholic School community, we continue to focus on the meaning of Lent in our lives.

We have a very exciting learning opportunity for families on Monday, March 8th  from 6-8 p.m.  The Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta will be offering a free evening for families.  This will be an exciting evening for families to make silly putty, build boats, race balloons and watch cool science demonstrations.  I hope you are able to join us for this Family Science Fun Night.

During March, we will invite all families to celebrate the many successes of our children through their Demonstration of Learning.  On Thursday, March 18th, you are invited to spend some time in your child’s classroom sharing some of the evidence of their learning over the past term. As well, there is an opportunity to talk with your child’s teacher.  We also look forward to our Spring Concert!  On Tuesday, March 23rd   Grades 1, 4 and 6 will be performing, while on Wednesday, March 24th , Grades 2, 3 and 5 will be performing.  We invite you to put these evenings aside to enjoy some wonderful singing and drama from our students.  Afternoon performances will also be occurring and you are most welcome to come for 1:15 performances on these same days.

Look for further information within this newsletter, as well as, at the time of report cards. We look forward to spending this day with you.
