NOVEMBER PRINCIPAL MESSAGE 2009

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. - Matthew 5:9

In our Catholic Community, November is a month of celebrations.  November 1 is Catholic Education Sunday; Please join us at St. Thomas More Parish on November 8th for a special recognition during the scheduled mass times as we give thanks for having Catholic Education as part of our public education system. On November 10 we pause to acknowledge the many soldiers who have worked and given their lives for the many rights and freedoms we live with today.  Perhaps as families you can take some time to look at your own roles as peacemakers in your families, in our schools and in our communities. We will also be celebrating our learning this month with report cards going home on Monday, November 23 followed by conferences on November 26. Information will be coming home with details about the conferences and a registration time form.

We are making slow progress in getting our technology in place at St. Teresa School. We have received our netbooks, but the wireless is not yet installed.  We have a plan in place for the SmartBoards, but the installation plan is still in development…so perhaps by our December newsletter I will be able to share great news on technology.  Staff members are attending in-services and are very eager to put this technology in the hands and heads of our students!  I will keep you informed of our progress.  A huge thank you to the School Council who have contributed money for the purchase of the netbooks and the SmartBoards!

We look forward to seeing each of you at some point in the month of November.
