Dear Parents and Guardians,

The month of April was very exciting! It began with the announcement that St. Teresa will have a new principal, Mrs. Lesia Huk, and a new Assistant Principal, Ms. Maria-Julieta Zelda. We welcome them to our wonderful community as Mrs. Leboldus-Campbell moves to Sister Annata Brockman and Ms. Hertlein moves to St. Alphonsus School. Both Father Roger and Father Andrew celebrated with us in our Kindergarten-led Easter Celebration. Students, along with many parents and grandparents, met to sing Alleluia and start their journey through the 50 days of Easter. That evening our community came together to dance the night away. A wonderful turnout shared in the excitement of dancing, face painting, and Silent Auction items. While the dance pays for itself through ticket sales, $889 was raised for our “Dig that Well” project. Thank you Mrs. Rourke and team for pulling together such a wonderful event and to all of the families that joined in the fun. We also had a very successful Open House on April 11 with many new families looking to join our community. Some Grade Five and Grade Six students shared their musical talents to start off this evening. Our registrations for next year are looking very strong.

This May we want to wish all of our mothers a wonderful “Mother’s Day.” What a wonderful opportunity to stop and say thank you to the moms that make our lives so special! May is also the beginning of our Grade 3 and Grade 6 Provincial Achievement Tests. Please check the newsletter for the dates. Finally, on Wednesday, May 9th at 7PM, our School Council will hold its Annual General Meeting. We are so fortunate to have a dedicated and hard-working parent community to support the education of our children. Please take time to join us for our final meeting of the year and talk with those who have done so much to support the St. Teresa community. This will be a shorter meeting with a Social to follow.

Wishing you a refreshing May, a time to get back into the soccer and baseball fields, a time to reconnect with neighbors and friends, and a time to reconnect with nature!
